Looks like it is all IOWAIT, so something is intensively accessing a storage device, and more RAM may not necessarily help?
@David: that was five years ago, but I believe the problem was mysql temporary tables on disk. Virtual memory use is also pretty high, so thrashing there could have contributed to the problem.
