makes iPod as a CD changer, and play iPod through car
audio system, it does not use FM transmitter, but wire connection.
(Plug into the CD changer port of the Head Unit). Once it is equipped,
you can choose music of iPod from the car stereo’s buttons or steering wheel controls,
For example,
1 choose playlist from iPod
2 Select songs by Next or Previous
3 Multi Play mode: Repeat, Random, Scan
4 Charge function

I don’t know for sure. I’m looking around too. I tried my itrip and it barely works. The best signal I can get is not worth even listening to. I’m guessing it has something to do with the antenna, like when you turn on the rear defroster and the radio goes out.

I saw an ad for a $99 Alpine product that integrates with a certain class of Alpine car stereo that allows for iPod control from the stereo and search/track/title/data display on the stereo display from the iPod. Very tasty.
