OUTFOXED: Rupert Murdoch’s War On Journalism is out on DVD and VHS now.
Outfoxed examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News, have been running a “race to the bottom” in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the dangers of ever-enlarging corporations taking control of the public’s right to know.
I was hooked before I saw the Outfoxed preview, but I’m definitely buying the DVD now.
Fox, which was quick to sue Al Franken and his publishers for Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right, is out to get filmmaker Robert Greenwald for Outfoxed. Copyfight is covering the issue and has this telling followup from Fox:
The illegal copyright infringement actions of moveon.org in cooperation with The New York Times, including ‘cutting a deal’ not to give Fox News Channel adequate time to react, is unprecedented
Clearly, Fox is out to use copyright law to restrict debate and criticism.
According to Copyfight’s Donna Wentworth, we should all read Robert Boynton’s story about the Outfoxed controversy. “It’s one of the better articles for articulating the connection between fair use, the First Amendment, and a functioning democracy.” Boynton, Donna reminds us, also wrote The Tyranny of Copyright.

How can you possibly criticize fox news through the lense of moveon.org. That particular website is so ultra-liberal most liberals can’t even identify with it. It’s hypricital to criticize a channel who atleast attempts to be ‘Fair and Balanced’ with a website who never attempts to do anything of the sort because this stifles the very things you charge fox with. If you want open debate, and freedom of expression, why are you using radicals who completly block any point other then the far left!
