Shopping in New York, NY

We watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy a lot over here. It seems we can make time for about one hour of TV per week, and Sandee’s decided we’ll spend it with the Fab Five.

I’m sure the New York merchants featured in the show are expecting this, but we’ve started to keep a list of places we have to visit when we next go to the city. I’m posting it here for my use as much as anybody else’s.

    Great made-in-the-city DJ and messanger bags. Expensive, but worth every penny. Will last a few decades, easy.

    Katz’s deli (best) Carnige Deli (close second) http://www.katzdeli.com http://www.carnegiedeli.com
    When you want a few pounds of the best pastrami you’ve ever had. Go. Eat. Unless you are one of those people who finishes everyone elses dinner when everyone is full, share a sandwich. Haven’t tried the cheesecake at Carnige, but I am without any doubt in the fact that it is one of the best around. I mean, come on, its NYC.

    A place where you better not be anything but a carnivore. Have a burger, a local brew, and see why people like myself will make special trips down to NYC for this joint. Its that good.
